How deep will my stump be ground?

Typical stump grinding is around 8-10 inches deep, usually more than enough to remove all of the underground wood. ​

Special circumstances including: underground power or other utilities, underground irrigation or certain soil conditions may only allow for a shallow depth, just below surface level grinding application.

Can all stumps be ground?

No, not all stumps can be ground:
-
The stump must be accessible by the machine, including gate clearance of a minimum of 38" wide​.

A clear pathway from the street to the stump; free of debris or other plant material that may be susceptible to damage if run over.

No rocks or other debris that can not be easily cleared immediately surrounding the stump
